Top 4 teams from each group will reach quarterfinals/knockout round. Winners of 4 quarterfinal games will reach semi-finals.
2011 Cricket World Cup matches and venues:
- India will host 29 world cup matches at 8 cricket venues.
- Sri Lanka will host 8 cricket matches at 3 venues.
- Bangladesh will host 8 cricket matches at 2 venues.
Predictability of Quarterfinalists and emergence of T20 cricket may dampen spirits of organisers and audience. But, Cricket matches always attract lot of attention in the sub-continent. This is the last world cup for lot of star cricketers from sub-continent.
